North Karelian businesses enter the Middle East markets via Jordan

 

A business delegation of fourteen Finnish companies is visiting Jordan during 6 – 12 May 2018. Delegation trip is organized in co-operation with Karelia University of Applied Scences Finpetra-project, and Business Finland Developing Markets –program.

From North Karelia ther are five companies joining the business delegation. Companies are from ict- and health technology sectors, environmental engineering services, natural resources management and soft paper industry. Week’s program consists of tailored company visits and joint seminars between Jordanian and Finnish stakeholders. Also various ministries and higher education institutes are included in the program.

Finpetra-project, coordinated by Karelia University of Applied Sciences is supporting export activites to the Middle East through an active network. North Karelian companies can join the project until the end of year 2019, if they are looking for contacts and business opportunities in that market. E.g. situation around Syrian refugees in Jordan is providing opportunities for new innovations and technologies and Finnish companies should be present more. In year 2017 only less than one (1) percent from all EU-imports to Jordan came from Finland, when e.g. Germany’s figure was over eighteen (18) percent.
