Karelia UAS signed its first major educational export agreement

Karelia UAS has signed its first major educational export agreement. The agreement was signed between Karelia UAS and the Chinese Heilongjiang Institute of Technology and its cooperation partner, Beijing Prepare Education, and it concerns the arrangement of a joint energy and environmental technology degree implemented in China.

The joint degree is part of Karelian UAS’ educational export. The preparation of and application for this agreement has been a demanding and long process, but we are now very happy with the signed agreement. This agreement is particularly important since the double degree not only meets our own quality criteria, but it is also officially accredited by the Chinese Ministry of Education. Such degrees are not very common, states President Petri Raivo.

Karelia UAS experts are in charge of the third of the teaching in the degree, and they also arrange an orientation course in China, and train Chinese teachers either in Harbin, China, or in Joensuu, Finland, depending on the theme. In addition, Karelia UAS arranges a three-week RENEW! InnoCamp Winter School in Joensuu. The agreement on the joint degree has been signed for ten years. President Petri Raivo signed the agreement in June 2018 and the joint degree will be launched in September 2018 in Harbin.
