Appli­cants are requested to upload docu­ments to the appli­ca­tion form to support their appli­ca­tion. Appli­ca­tion form instructs you to add the required docu­ments. In case of ques­tions, please contact admis­sions at karelia.fi

Educa­tional certificates

Degree completed outside of Finland:

  • Upload a copy of the orig­i­nal certifi­cate (+ and offi­cial trans­la­tion of all the docu­ments not orig­i­nally written in Finnish, Swedish or English) to the appli­ca­tion form by 27 January 2021 at 15.00 pm Finnish time.
  • Grad­u­ates of spring 2021 – qual­i­fi­ca­tion yet to be completed:
    • a certifi­cate from the educa­tional insti­tu­tion stating the expected grad­u­a­tion sched­ule (+ and offi­cial trans­la­tion of all the docu­ments not orig­i­nally written in Finnish, Swedish or English) to the appli­ca­tion form by 27 January 2021 at 15.00 pm Finnish time.
    • After complet­ing the degree: the final diploma/certificate by 16 July 2021 at 15.00 Finnish time

Inter­na­tional Matric­u­la­tion Exam­i­na­tion
(Inter­na­tional Baccalau­re­ate or Euro­pean Baccalau­re­ate and Reifeprüfung/DIA Diplo­mas):

  • a copy of the orig­i­nal grad­u­a­tion diploma/certificate (+ and offi­cial trans­la­tion of all the docu­ments not orig­i­nally written in Finnish, Swedish or English) to the appli­ca­tion form by 27 January 2021 at 15.00 pm Finnish time.
  • Grad­u­ates of spring 2021 – qual­i­fi­ca­tion yet to be completed:
    • Upload the predicted grades or equiv­a­lent docu­ment by 7 April 2021 at 15.00 Finnish time
    • After complet­ing the degree: the final diploma/certificate by 16 July 2021 at 15.00 Finnish time

Finnish Matric­u­la­tion Examination

  • qual­i­fi­ca­tion completed after 1.1.1990: infor­ma­tion obtained directly from educa­tional institutions
  • prior to 1990: upload a copy of the matric­u­la­tion exam­i­na­tion certifi­cate by 27 January 2021 at 15.00 pm Finnish time

Finnish voca­tional upper secondary school qual­i­fi­ca­tion (“ammatill­i­nen perustutkinto”):

  • degree completed before 1.1.2017: Upload a copy of the grad­u­a­tion certifi­cate by 27 January 2021 at 15.00 pm Finnish time
  • degree completed after 1.1.2017 – : infor­ma­tion obtained directly from educa­tional institutions

Finnish specialist/further voca­tional upper secondary qual­i­fi­ca­tion (“ammatti-/erikoisam­mat­ti­tutk­into”):

  • degree completed before 1.1.2018: Upload a copy of the grad­u­a­tion certifi­cate by 27 January 2021 at 15.00 pm Finnish time
  • degree completed after 1.1.2018 – infor­ma­tion obtained directly from educa­tional institutions

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree completed in Finland

  • degree completed before 1.1.2003 – Upload a copy of the grad­u­a­tion certifi­cate by 27 January 2021 at 15.00 pm Finnish time
  • degree completed after 1.1.2003 – infor­ma­tion obtained directly from educa­tional institutions

Refugees

If you are in a refugee or in a refugee-like situ­a­tion or an asylum seeker and unable to submit docu­men­tary evidence of your qual­i­fi­ca­tion, Karelia UAS may invite you to sit an entrance exam­i­na­tion. You must have an offi­cial deci­sion attest­ing to your refugee status (a deci­sion on asylum or a resi­dence permit granted on the basis of a need for protection).

Exemp­tion from the tuition fee

You are exempted from paying tuition fees if you have one of the docu­ments mentioned below. Please note that you have to upload a copy of the docu­ment which you use as a basis for exemp­tion to the appli­ca­tion form by 27 January 2021 by 3:00 pm Finnish time or once you receive it.

  • Pass­port or iden­tity card to indi­cate the citi­zen­ship of EU/EEA/Switzerland
  • EU Blue Card in Finland
  • Contin­u­ous resi­dence permit card in Finland, Type A permit
  • EU Family Member’s Resi­dence Card in Finland
  • Perma­nent resi­dence permit card in Finland, Type P permit
  • EU resi­dence permit for third-country citi­zens with long-term resi­dence permit card in Finland (Type P-EU)
  • UK citi­zens: if you have entered to Finland before 1 January 2021 and have a proof from Finnish Immi­gra­tion Service that you have regis­tered, or applied to regis­ter, your EU right to resi­dence in Finland in accor­dance with the with­drawal agree­ment. Pre-tasks

Check the infor­ma­tion about the entrance exam­i­na­tion if pre-tasks are required. If you intend to partic­i­pate the Online entrance exam­i­na­tion of Inter­na­tional Busi­ness, a pre-task must be uploaded to the appli­ca­tion form by 27 January 2021 at 15.00 Finnish time.
