With Cross-Institutional Studies you can expand your study opportunities and include studies from other universities into your own degree. Here you will find the instructions on taking part in Cross-Institutional Studies offered by Karelia as a student at another university.
See Karelia’s Cross-Institutional Study Courses in your ISP and enroll in accordance with the instructions of your home university. Actively follow the study offer and registration periods.
The studies are free of charge. Cross-Institutional Study Right and the study selection are based on contracts between universities. Cross-Institutional Studies offered by the CampusOnline network can also be found at the Cross-Institutional Study Service Channel RIPA.

Students of Other Universities
The Cross-Institutional Study Service Channel RIPA in Peppi enables enrollment in studies at another university. You can enrol in courses offered by Karelia in your home university’s Peppi/Sisu. The student can only see possible courses available to him/her. Each university has its own registration times, so follow the offer and registration times actively through your ISP. You will no longer be able to enrol in the implementation of the course in question, if the registration time has ended.
When you have enrolled in a course offered by Karelia, you will receive a temporary study right at Karelia for completing the studies. If your study right at your home university ends (e.g. if you graduate or resign from your studies), your study right at Karelia will end as well even if you have not completed the studies.
The courses are online-based and are held on Karelia’s Moodle platform. The course platform opens on the first day of the studies in question. Instructions for starting and completing the studies will be sent to those accepted on the course closer to the beginning of the studies. You can get more information on the content and description of the course from the teacher in charge of the studies. If you haven’t received a start message, check your email spam, and study schedule and information in your ISP. Also check the status of your enrolment.
Enrolments in courses are accepted in order of registration. Enrolments in courses are accepted in order of registration at the latest at the end of the enrolment period. Enrolments in nonstop implementations are accepted once a week.
As a student you have the responsibility to make sure that the assessment of studies taken at another university have been correctly transferred to your study attainments at your home university. Possible retakes and grade improvements must first be discussed with the teacher in charge of the study implementation.
To be able to enrol in Cross-Institutional Studies offered by Karelia you must be enrolled as being present and have an active study right at your home university. You will receive a study right at Karelia to complete your studies. Look at the offer and enrol in the studies by following the instructions for Cross-Institutional studying at your home university.
You can view the course selection and enrol in studies in your own university’s study information system (on the Student’s Desktop). Check out the instructions for Cross-Institutional studying at your home university. Upon enrolment, accept the transfer of your information to Karelia UAS. You may cancel your enrolment if your enrolment has not yet been accepted at Karelia. When your enrolment has been accepted, you are able to see it on your ISP. Also check the status of your registration.
Log in to the study platform (Moodle) with your Karelia ID. When you enrol in your first study implementation at Karelia, you will receive a message that contains the instructions on how to activate your user. Make sure to save the message for future use. You will also receive a start message closer to the start of your studies, with instructions to activate your Karelia ID and log in to Karelia Moodle. Please note that HAKA login is not used to complete Karelia UAS’s studies.
By logging in with a Karelia ID, you can find the course on Moodle’s homepage under the Dashboard. You can use study materials that are not provided on the Moodle platform and you can give course feedback. If you haven’t received a start message check your email spam. Check also study schedule and information in your ISP.
The teacher in charge of the course at Karelia will assess your studies and register the attainment on Karelia’s student register within four weeks (28 days) of the student having completed the studies. In the course’s Moodle, you will find possible additional information on the timetable of the assessment. The assessment is automatically transferred to your study attainments in your home university’s study information system. If you retake the same course, the assessment will transfer automatically to Peppi/Sisu according to the process described above as well.
The assessments of courses taken through the CampusOnline portal are not automatically transferred to the student’s home university, and you must take care of the transfer of the study credit according to the instructions of your home university. You can check your home university’s procedure and guidelines from intra or the study office. If your study credit is not shown on the My Studyinfo -service, you may ask for a Transcript of Records by e-mail at [email protected].
If you are dissatisfied with the assessment given to you, please contact us by e-mail at [email protected] to begin the reassessment procedure. The request must be made within 14 days of receiving the notice of the assessment.
