Longer summer due dates for your library loans – renew your loans

If you renew your library loans now, you will get a longer summer due dates for your general collection’s loans (28 days loan period loans). You will also get the longer due date if you now borrow general collection’s materials from the library. The due date will be 26 August 2026. Note: Remember to check that the due date changes to that August date.

Where to renew:

  • You can renew your loans on Tuudo or on Karelia-Finna.
  • You can also contact library by email (library(a)karelia.fi) or with a message on WhatsApp (0503119545).
  • You can also visit library within its customer service hours. You can see customer service hours from Karelia-Finna.

If the due date is not changing to that 26 August 2026, the reason might be:

  • There is a request for the material / book
    > You can not renew the loan, you need to return the loan to the library
  • You have fees or fines of 10 euro or more
    > Return the loans, pay the fees; after your fees are wholly paid, you can borrow materials again, if there are no requests to those materials / books (contact the library is needed)
  • Your customership expires
    > Your customer information may need to be updated > contact the library
  • The maximum loan time (1 year by renewing) is ending
    > You need to return the loans to the library; you can borrow materials again, if there are no requests to those materials / books

Note: With course books (and other 14 days loans), the longer due date will come starting at 5 June.
