Career monitoring survey will be conducted this autumn for graduates of the year 2020

The nationwide career monitoring survey for universities of applied sciences will be conducted this autumn for graduates of the year 2020. Now being organized for the sixth time, the survey explores graduates’ satisfaction with their degrees, career paths, and the labor market situation across different fields. For alumni, the survey offers a valuable opportunity to contribute to the development of education and provide feedback to their own university of applied sciences.

This year, the career monitoring survey will take place from October 8 to November 9. A personal invitation to participate will be sent to all 2020 graduates via both email and text message. In addition, Karelia will contact all participants by phone — we truly want to hear how you’re doing! This year, the calls will be made by Luoma, the cooperative of students from Karelia’s Y-Academy.

Survey Results Help Develop Education

Each year, the career monitoring survey is sent to approximately 27,000 graduates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a university of applied sciences. The results help institutions plan and improve education, and the responses are also used to assess the quality and development needs of higher education. The survey also serves as a basis for funding universities of applied sciences, so by responding, you can genuinely make an impact.

According to the results of the career monitoring survey conducted in autumn 2024, Karelia alumni were satisfied with their education and employment. A total of 282 alumni from Karelia responded, and the results showed that strong connections to working life during studies significantly support learning and employment. Karelia graduates have consistently achieved excellent employment outcomes. Five years after graduation, 74% of respondents were in full-time employment, and 10% were in fixed-term full-time positions. Only 2% of respondents were unemployed. Of those who responded, 90% were at least fairly satisfied with their degree, and 72% were very satisfied or satisfied with their career so far.

The results of the autumn 2024 career monitoring survey are public and can be accessed via the Finnish National Agency for Education’s statistics service Vipunen here >>
