My journey as an intern at Karelia University of Applied Sciences has been great and a huge learning experience for me. I would like to appreciate my team for their exceptional support, for always appreciating me, making sure of my wellbeing, and giving me tasks that helped me learn interesting things and grow immensely.
I started in September, and it has been almost five months now. The internship is soon ending and I feel both happy and sad. Happy because I loved working at Karelia UAS and because one part of my studies will be completed with valuable skill development. Sad because it is coming to an end and I will truly miss my team members and working at Karelia UAS.
I learned about digital marketing, creating marketing content, and social media marketing. Not only did I learn how to create content, but also how content can be planned and executed, for example, videos, posts, stories, and much more. I also worked in assisting and organizing schedules and actors for video production. I created reports with help and guidance for researching and analyzing market before initiating marketing campaigns. I understood the concept of branding and how it brings uniqueness and value to any organization.
I also interviewed students about their learning experience at Karelia UAS, which helped me strengthen my network and understand different perspectives. Apart from that, I explored research in digital marketing and created presentations on different matters related to communications.
Learning journey with a positive mindset
While working, I also realized my interest in a thesis topic, which I will soon start working on. I have also received guidance from my team regarding my thesis topic, and I truly appreciate them for always recognizing my potential – sometimes even before I realized it myself. They boosted my confidence and helped me enhance my skills and perspectives on different aspects of my work.
I learned how important marketing is for any organization, how teamwork leads to success, and moreover, how a team should be. I was also given opportunities to travel for work and attend events, which diversified my experience, and I collaborated with staff beyond the communications team. Honestly, it was a great learning journey for me. I always believe in being positive and leaving a positive impression wherever I go, but this time, working at Karelia UAS has left a positive impression on me and memories to cheer for life.
I am eager to use all my skills in my future endeavors and to share them with others who are eager to learn. I believe sharing knowledge always increases your own understanding, as it makes you more aware, more confident, and more connected to others.
