The EMMA Master’s Programme in Active Ageing has received official accreditation. Karelia University of Applied Sciences is part of the international EMMA programme (European Joint Master in Active Ageing and Age-Friendly Society), which has now received official accreditation. This means that the programme has been internationally evaluated as high quality and meets the learning outcomes of a Master’s level degree (EQF level 7).
The accreditation was granted by the Portuguese Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education in cooperation with an international expert panel. It is valid for six years.
Through this programme, Karelia UAS strengthens its role as an international developer and expert in ageing-related education. The EMMA programme offers students an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of active ageing and the development of age-friendly societies in an international learning environment.
The programme will start in autumn 2026, and the application process is currently open. Admissions are coordinated by the international consortium.
More information about the programme and how to apply is available on Karelia UAS’s website and on the website of the coordinating institution, Carinthia University of Applied Sciences (CUAS).
