In this page you will find the instructions on taking part in Cross-Institutional Studies offered by Karelia as a student at another university.

Instructions for Arriving Students of Other Universities
The Cross-Institutional Study Service Channel RIPA in Peppi or Sisu enables fluent enrolment in studies at another university and transfer of assessments between higher education institutions. As a student of Cross-institutional studies, you can study your chosen studies at another higher education institution.
The right to study in Cross-Institutional Studies is the offer of studies are based on cooperation and agreements between higher education institutions. In addition to the extensive online study offer of CampusOnline networks (CampusOnline AMK – for Degree Programme students and CampusOnline YAMK – for Master’s Degree students), there are also studies offered in other cross-study networks.
You can find the study offer of Cross-Institutional Studies in your ISP in your home university’s Peppi or Sisu. You need to enrol in courses offered by Karelia in your ISP – you can only see courses which are available to you. Notice the enrolment times while enrolling. Follow the instructions of your home university as well!
You can enrol in courses offered by Karelia in your home university’s Peppi or Sisu. Enrolment for studies always takes place in your ISP. You can only see courses which are available to you. There are limited places reserved for students of Cross-Institutional Studies with course implementations – By enrolling well in advance, you will secure your study place.
To register for Cross-Institutional Studies, you must have an active study right at your home university, and you must be registered as present.
Enrolment times vary by implementation, so follow the Cross-Institutional Study offer and enrolment times actively through your ISP. Upon enrolment, accept the transfer of your data to Karelia University of Applied Sciences. Once the enrolment period has ended, you will no longer be able to participate in the implementation of the course in question.
Please note, if you have added a course to your ISP, you must also enrol in it during the enrolment period. Follow the status of your registration on your ISP. Remember to enrol for each implementation (even if you have already enrolled for the same course with a previous implementation).
You will find a description of the courseand information about the schedule and timing, teaching methods, assessment criteria and possible pre-information requirements in the course and implementation information. Further information on the content and implementation of the studies is provided by the teacher in charge of each implementation.
Acceptance of registration You can see the status of your registration in your ISP. Registrations for the study implementation are accepted in the order of registration. Registrations will be accepted or rejected at the end of the registration period at the latest. When enrolment is continuous, enrolments for nonstop implementations are accepted once a week.
Cancellation of registration You can see the status of your registration from your ISP. You can cancel the registration yourself in your ISP during the registration period or when your registration has not yet been approved.
You will receive the right to study and to complete the studies for which your registration has been approved in Karelia. The right to study is valid in accordance with the completion of the course until the end of the academic year.
If your right to study at your home university ends, for example, when you graduate, resign or change your right to study (from a path student to a degree student), your right to study in Karelia will also end even if you are in the middle of completing your studies.
To start and complete your studies, you will receive instructions via email. If you haven’t received a message with instructions on how to start your studies, check your email spam as well. Check also the status of your enrolment in ISP.
The username of Karelia can be activated 24 hours after receiving the start message. Studies are conducted using Karelia’s username (Karelia ID – Kareliatunnus) in Karelia’s Moodle learning environment.

Log in to the Moodle learning environment (https://m.karelia.fi) with your Karelia ID by selecting Karelia login (Karelia-tunnus). Please note that the HAKA login is not possible to complete Karelia’s studies, and Moodle enrolment keys are not sent to start studies.
When you log in with your Karelia ID (Kareliatunnus), the courses for which your registration has been approved will be visible to you on My Courses tab of Moodle, no later than the beginning of your studies. Check the study’s starting time from your own enrolments at ISP. Access to Karelia’s Moodle ends at the end of the Moodle course implementation period or at the latest at the end of your right to study.
With Karelia’s username, you can study at Karelia’s Moodle, and you will also be entitled to the necessary study materials outside of Moodle. You can also provide course feedback.
The teacher at Karelia will assess your studies and register the attainment on Karelia’s Peppi within four weeks (28 days) after you have completed the studies. A teacher’s leave period (e.g. summer) extends the assessment deadline. In the course’s Moodle, you will find possible additional information on the timetable of the assessment. The assessment of study attainments follows the Degree Regulations of Karelia UAS.
Assessment of study attainment is automatically transferred to your study attainments in your home university to Peppi or Sisu. If you retake the same course, the assessment will transfer automatically to Peppi or Sisu according to the process described above as well.
As a student, you have the responsibility to check that the assessment of studies taken at another university have been correctly transferred to your study attainments at your home university in your ISP. If necessary, the renewal and increase of the assessment you have received should be discussed with the teacher in charge of the study implementation in question.
