During 2025, Karelia University of Applied Sciences further strengthened its position as a responsible, transparent, and sustainability-driven higher education institution. At Karelia UAS, responsibility is not a separate programme but a way of operating that runs throughout the entire organisation.
Throughout the year, actions to promote responsibility included developing support services for international students, strengthening risk management, advancing RDI projects that support the green transition, and promoting staff wellbeing and good governance.
Karelia UAS also strengthened its climate work by joining the Joensuu Climate Partnership Network, supporting its goal of making operations increasingly climate-friendly.
Karelia UAS’s sustainability work is built on systematic strategic development, multidisciplinary cooperation, and an open organisational culture. The university of aplied sciences remains committed to continuous improvement towards an even more sustainable and responsible higher education community.
