Orien­ta­tion

The Inter­na­tional Office arranges an orien­ta­tion programme for the incom­ing exchange students at the begin­ning of the autumn and spring semes­ter. The programme will be sent to the students prior to their arrival via email. 

The pre-arrival webinar for incom­ing exchange students is on 6th June at 12 – 14 EEST (Finnish time). An invi­ta­tion and a link to the webinar have been sent to the students.

The orien­ta­tion days for Autumn 2023 exchange students will take place on 17th – 18th August 2023 on Karelia’s Tikkarinne campus. 

Before the orien­ta­tion programme

Exchange students are recom­mended to arrive in Joensuu couple of days before the begin­ning of the orien­ta­tion days in order to have time to settle in.

During the orien­ta­tion programme

During the orien­ta­tion programme students will receive useful infor­ma­tion about studies at Karelia Univer­sity of Applied Sciences, Finnish culture and society and learn many prac­ti­cal things about living in Finland and in Joensuu. Students get to know each other and Karelia’s tutor students. 

After the orien­ta­tion programme

After the orien­ta­tion programme starts an intro­duc­tory course in the Finnish language and culture (course code LTP7130, 2 ECTS).
