Student story: Timur Voinov

My name is Timur Voinov. I am a 20-year-old student from Russia. With a passion for inter­na­tional busi­ness and a drive to succeed, I found myself study­ing in Joensuu. The repu­ta­tion of Finland for its top-notch educa­tion system and the tran­quil envi­ron­ment attracted me. Karelia UAS, with its focus on prac­ti­cal learn­ing seemed to be the perfect educa­tional insti­tu­tion for me.

As I approach the end of my studies, my sights are set on improv­ing my exper­tise in inter­na­tional trade. I am drawn to the oppor­tu­ni­ties that Finland and the Joensuu region offer. In the future, I see myself in a role where I can use my finan­cial analy­sis skills, perhaps as a cross-cultural busi­ness consul­tant, helping busi­nesses bridge gaps in inter­na­tional markets.

In the studies, the focus on real-world busi­ness scenar­ios equips students with the skills needed to excel in the compet­i­tive global market. What I have espe­cially enjoyed during my studies is the genuine support and guid­ance from the staff members, along with the empha­sis on prac­ti­cal expe­ri­ences through projects and collab­o­ra­tions with local busi­nesses. The study methods are versa­tile: tradi­tional lectures, hands-on work­shops, inter­ac­tive discus­sions and case studies.

Joensuu, with its breath­tak­ing natural beauty and safe, student-friendly envi­ron­ment and a vibrant student life, is an ideal place for students. Choos­ing Joensuu and Karelia UAS has undoubt­edly been one of the best deci­sions of my life.
