Student is required to pay the tuition fee for exceeding semester. Scholarship will not be paid if study time exceeds 3,5 / 4 years.
  • graduates during the semester, the tuition fee paid will not be refunded,
  • is found guilty of plagiarism, the scholarship committee has the right to reclaim the scholarship.

Special issues

If the student falls ill and must be absent from the studies for a semester or an academic year, s/he can transfer his/her payment to the following academic year after providing a medical certificate on the illness.

If a student who is about to start his/her studies at Karelia UAS becomes ill before starting the studies and has to be absent the first academic year, s/he can apply for reimbursement of the tuition fee s/he has already paid for. The student needs to present a medical certificate to be eligible for reimbursement. If the application has been made and the medical certificate submitted before the beginning of the first academic year, the whole tuition fee will be reimbursed.

If the student is compelled to discontinue his/her studies based on her maternity leave or his/her own or a family member’s severe illness, half of the paid tuition fee for the academic year in question will be refunded, if the studies are discontinued no later than the in the halfway of an academic year. The student is responsible for providing proof of the reason for the discontinuation (medical certificate). The tuition fee will not be refunded without a medical certificate. Other type of discontinuation of studies does not entitle to the restoration of the tuition fee.

The paid tuition fee can only be fully refunded if the residence permit for the studies is not granted and the student has not started his/her studies online or present at campus, and he/she resigns.
