Student story: Ayeman Rahman

Courses are directly applicable to working life

I am now near to completing my 3rd semester but already I know how to grow my network in the corporate world and work in an international atmosphere.

Ayeman Rahman, Bangladesh

I am Ayeman Rahman from Bangladesh. I am a 2. year student in the International Business programme. I am 22 years old but in this short life I have already had the opportunity to study at three different universities. After completing my high school in 2020, I chose to study abroad to explore the world of knowledge.

After exploring student life in Poland and Canada, I ended up in Joensuu, Finland to study at Karelia UAS. I have found the way of teaching suitable for anyone who wants to work in corporations or start their own business. In the future, I plan to start my own marketing business.

Karelia UAS offers courses which are directly applicable to working life. I am now near to completing my 3rd semester but already I know how to grow my network in the corporate world and work in an international atmosphere. What I enjoy, is the cooperation with the working life. On some courses we get to learn directly from the companies.

I have enjoyed the possibilities for long term and short term exchange programmes. I have participated in an intensive programme in Germany and next summer I get to go to Belgium.

Joensuu is a student-friendly city. One-third of the population are students. In Joensuu, life is not as hectic as in bigger cities but in terms of opportunities, Joensuu has much to offer.
